Highlights
European norm EN12845
The European standard UNI EN 12845 regulates fixed fire-fighting installations and the design, installation and maintenance of automatic sprinkler systems.
EN 12845 standard deals mainly with giving rules and indications on the sizing of fire-fighting systems and on the type of pumps, prescribing some general requirements and others specifications for peculiar pumps.
Each pump must be installed with its own control panel in the same room with the exception, of course, of the submersible pumps.
Plus
Compared to the previous Standard UNI9490 the EN12845 contains many more conditions to be monitored and to be transmitted to a manned room or to a person in charge able to intervene immediately.
Furthermore the Standard clarifies that the certification has to be issued for the whole fire fighting system. The pumping system and/or the control panels can be certified
in compliance to the Standard by a self-certification of the manufacturer.
