Highlights

European standard EN12845

The European Standard EN12845 refers to fire fighting fixed installations and to the study, design, installation and service of automatic sprinkler systems.
The EN12845 gives regulations and indications about the sizing of the fire fighting systems and the type of pumps prescribing some general and some specific requirements for specific pumps.

Each pump has to be installed with its own control panel in the same room except for submerged pumps of course.

Advantages

Compared to the previous Standard UNI9490 the EN12845 contains many more conditions to be monitored and to be transmitted to a manned room or to a person in charge able to intervene immediately.
Furthermore the Standard clarifies that the certification has to be issued for the whole fire fighting system. The pumping system and/or the control panels can be certified
in compliance to the Standard by a self-certification of the manufacturer.
