Highlights
Direct on line start type
The direct starting system is perhaps the simplest and most traditional and consists in connecting the engine directly to the power supply network, thus performing a full voltage start. It is often abbreviated with DOL (Direct On Line).
The DIRECTO electrical panel provides for direct connection to the power supply network which implies:
• Starting at full voltage and constant frequency
• High starting torque
• Very short acceleration times on average.
Applications
Direct starting is the simplest and cheapest way to start electric pumps or motors and is traditionally the most used. The induced current in the rotor is high. The result is a current peak on the network which can be 5 to 8 times the rated current. They are suitable for starting small submersible pumps or submersible pumps or for booster systems with surface pumps.
Components
DIRECTO electrical panels are made in plastic or metal boxes with a minimum protection degree of IP55.
Each panel has indicator lights indicating the presence of voltage, thermal intervention and motor running, a manual or automatic selector, a switch disconnector with door locking system.
A terminal block allows the connection to the utilities and external commands such as pressure switches, floats etc.
